Who do you think had the dopest video of 2018?
Every artist loves when his or her vision comes to life. Frederick music has definitely brought the local playlist to life with videos. Let’s see who had the best ones in 2018!
1. Star Fox 64 – Iodine P.
Iodine P. always brings fresh and unmatched visuals. His creativity, concepts and execution are always competition. Directed and filmed by Influenced By Nightmares, the concept of “Star Fox 64” was so in-depth, with a Pastor Brown cameo, a choir who learned rhythm on set, and of course the h*es. Iodine P. never disappoints!
2. Big Picture – Ahzay
“Big Picture” was filmed and directed by Big J, a videographer apart of the Senior Collective. As a lead into his album debut of the second volume of Gold Sodium, Ahzay released the official music video for song “Big Picture,” a display of the bigger picture of returning to music and the freedom it grants — after going through the process. Although not on the album, it served as preparation for the album’s release. With shots of the infamous Frederick Sugarloaf Mountain, Ahzay literally takes us to the mountaintop.
3. Devil n Karma – Lil’ George
Shot by AS Visuals, Lil’ George debuted his video “Devil N Karma.” Directed by Ankit, the video “Devil N Karma” is one of his singles from his project Embrace the Struggle. In the video the message is about reflection and changing old ways.
4. Chosen Few – Young Planet
Young Planet released “Chosen Few” at the top of the year and it stayed with us all year long. Cidida and Eboil, What looked like a fun, impromptu jam session turned into a dope, Beastie Boys influenced music video. It gives us nostalgic 90s vibes and was directed by Mason Rose.
5. Say So – Eddy Michaels
Filmed by Ahzay, Alexis Skinner stars as the lead lady in the “Say So” video by R&B artist Eddy Michaels. The video is a love story about a lady who was avoiding love until she was swooned by Eddy, a perfect happily ever after fairytale. The ladies loved seeing the story unfold on camera and the fellas could all relate.

Frederick Coachella -- if we had to describe it. The festival was a good looking crowd of fashionable and fun Fredericktonians eating out of cartons and drinking beer. The good life. With performances, good food, and a blazing sun, it was a festival for the books.
