Families gathered at Monocacy Village Park for “Back to School Frederick”, a community event aimed at helping local students start the school year prepared and confident. Organized by I Believe in Me, the event provided 500 students with up to $250 in free clothing and school supplies through its Student Essentials Experience. Addressing practical needs that can become barriers to educational success is one of the ways IBM shows up.
I Believe in Me (IBM) is a Frederick youth development nonprofit focused on mentorship and whole-child support. The organization has a history of connecting young people and families with resources, programming and community support. IBM continued its back-to-school efforts the following weekend with additional community programming, extending the organization’s focus on making sure local families had access to resources as the new school year began.
