For the first time, Linganore Winecellars traded Caribbean rhythms for the unmistakable sound of Washington-area go-go music during its annual “Sweet Escape Wine & Music Festival,” introducing a new musical direction for one of Maryland’s most popular winery events. The two-day festival featured performances by legendary go-go bands Rare Essence and The Junkyard Band, along with Crank Caviar and DJ Sprang Intl, while guests enjoyed Linganore’s signature wines, local food vendors, and a lively summer atmosphere. The festival marked a notable departure from the winery’s longtime Caribbean Wine & Music Festival, giving attendees a fresh experience while celebrating a genre deeply rooted in the region’s culture.
By blending Maryland wine with a homegrown musical tradition, the Sweet Escape Wine & Music Festival offered visitors a uniquely local experience and demonstrated how established events can embrace new traditions while continuing to bring people together.
