Over the years, the Great Frederick Fair has welcomed artists across all genres, ages, and levels of fame — from country legends to rock icons to contemporary pop stars. This year, the highlight act was none other than hip-hop artist T.I., who headlined the Michelob Ultra Grandstand.
T.I. brought an electric night of hits to the Grandstand at the Great Frederick Fair on Saturday, drawing a packed crowd to the Frederick Fairgrounds. The Atlanta rapper worked through a high-energy set that leaned on his best-known singles and party anthems, sending the audience into frequent sing-alongs beneath the fair’s lights and banners, making the concert one of the marquee events of fair week. Doors opened in the early evening so fairgoers could pair the concert with rides, food vendors, and the rest of fair week programming.
T.I. has actually brushed shoulders with Frederick before — locals still recall when he was briefly spotted shopping at the Walmart on Route 85 back in 2013. This year, however, marked his first time returning in an official capacity, bringing his music to the main stage of one of the region’s biggest annual events.
Beyond the music, the night felt like part concert, part community celebration — local attendees and visitors alike treated the show as one stop on a full evening of fair activities. Appreciative fans filled the seats and tailgated surrounding areas in even higher anticipation for the after party at Hagerstown’s Havana. T.I.’s performance marked another successful year of bringing diverse and nationally recognized talent to Frederick.
