New Spires Arts hosted an evening of youth talent, art, and resources at The Asian American Center of Frederick’s Minority Youth Talent Show.
May is recognized as Asian Pacific Islander Heritage Month; this event celebrated diversity through the arts. The theme was: “Breaking the Stigma” surrounding minority mental health issues. Included was a Photo-voice exhibit on Minority Youth Mental Health, a collection of images and short narratives from minority youth at the Transformative Arts Project organization.
Many organizations collaborated to make this talent show a success including Children of Incarcerated Parents Partnership (CIPP), INESCO BMW, Phoenix Recovery Academy and Girls on the Run Mission: Empowering Communities Through Art.
