This past Tuesday, the Frederick Arts Council hosted a Literature Night at Sky Stage in collaboration with Wisteria, Hood College’s student-run literary magazine.
The event celebrated the power of story and performance, bringing together writers, poets, and community members in the open-air venue at 59 South Carroll Street.
A highlight of the evening was a captivating spoken word performance by Maryland Poet Laureate Lady Brion, whose work resonated deeply with the audience. Hood College students shared original poetry and prose, adding fresh perspectives and creative energy to the program. Performers from the Brunswick Line Poetry collective also took the stage, offering bold and thoughtful pieces that reflected the region’s rich literary scene.
