Malaysia Pikemuccini-Uribe is the owner of Life’s Butters, a natural skin care line that uses natural and organic butters like shea, cocoa, and mango for the body. Check out our Q&A with Malaysia about her journey!
Life’s Butters is a black family-owned company based in Waynesboro, Pennsylvania that produces natural and organic skin and hair care, with zero harsh chemicals, preservatives, dyes, or alcohol. Every ingredient comes from the Great Mother Earth and is handmade. Additionally, Malaysia has a jewelry line, Life’s Imperfections, that uses precious metals and semi-precious crystals and stones
These products will give LIFE back into your skin, hair, and body.I do this to help others in any way I can along their spiritual journey or Spiritual Awakening.
On how she got started:
I started Life’s Butters for a couple of reasons. One, because I need a product that we’re actually going to work to keep my sensitive skin and hair moisturized and protected. The second reason is because after my first trip to Kemet (Egypt), my life changed. I was shown just how hard working, intellectual, and ground blazing my ancestors were and I wanted to encompass all of those things and pay homage to my African ancestors legacy, thus, the birth of Life’s Butters. Initially, I made these
Butters for my family and friends and I, but they encouraged me to sell to the world.
About the Name:
I chose the name “Life’s Imperfections” because none of my work is exactly like the last. For example, two people may order the same Crown, but they won’t look exactly the same because I don’t use measurements (except for ring sizers) I just go by intuition. 95% of my work is different then the last; most of my customers trust me to assign a crystal and create a piece for them. I really don’t have a favorite product! I love them all, but if I had to choose one it would be chocolate-covered oranges because it was my first creation and all my customers love it because it’s nourishing, moisturizing and smells delicious. My art is like children to me. I’m constantly growing and with that so is my work and ideas — it changes all the time.
As a former Frederick Community College business student, Malaysia mentions her favorite crystal shop resides in the beloved city.
On her products:
Healing crystals and stones are very important to me and my family. Not only are they beautiful naturally, but they are packed full of power and when used correctly they can help you in any situation in life from financial worries to protection and can even help with meditation and prayer; they also help us along our spiritual journey.
Crystals are solid examples of a mineral that has flat surfaces that meet at regular angles. In order to get crystals that look like the ones in my jewelry certain conditions need to be met, sometimes crystals can be formed in small or large cavities like in the ground or in rocks, like granite, where there is room and liquid or gas where precipitation or heat or pressure can take part in creating the crystals. Rock salt is a form of crystal, even in clouds along with condensation of the moisture in the atmosphere can create a crystal like snowflakes.
