Did you know the Frederick Pride is the second largest pride celebration in the state?
Frederick Pride lit up Carroll Creek Park this past weekend, drawing thousands of joyous community members to Downtown Frederick for its most vibrant celebration yet. Kicking off with the inaugural parade on Friday evening—featuring colorful floats, spirited performers, and a lively marching band winding through East Patrick to Baker Park—the event paid homage to the Stonewall legacy in a heartfelt, inclusive way. On Saturday, the festival erupted from 11 AM to 6 PM, with a bustling food-truck court, beverage garden featuring local breweries and wineries, drag performances headlined by RuPaul’s legendary stars, and the popular Pride Shop stocked with everything from artisan crafts to diverse flags—all courtesy of The Frederick Center’s year‑round commitment.
Families were dazzled by the sensory-friendly children’s area, complete with Drag Queen Story Time, DIY crafts, and games, while over 200 local nonprofit and small‑business vendors lined the creek offering goods and resources. Social media buzzed with heartfelt gratitude from attendees—one trans participant shared it “gave me some much‑needed hope” amidst trying times[1]. Thanks to tireless volunteers and the infectious energy of Frederick’s LGBTQ+ and ally community, this weekend’s festivities truly celebrated unity, resilience, and pride for all.
