The Mount City Elks Lodge #382 hosted its 100th anniversary Organization Day Parade on Sunday.
The highly-anticipated annual events draws residents from far and near. The community celebrates rich African-American history along All Saints Street in downtown Frederick and enjoys the local bands and community organizations that walk the streets waving to passersby.
The parade participants were as followed: Leonard J. Polk Jr. Grand Exalted Ruler IBPODW Grand Marshall; George B. Delaplaine, Jr., Grand Marshall; Eastern High School Band; Frederick High School Marching Band; Thomas Johnson High School Marching Band: Catoctin High School Marching Band; Brunswick High School Band; Bowie State University Band; Bowie High School Band; Frederick Steppers; Star Struck Superstars, Sister in Dance; The Marching Unit Baltimore; Studio Blaq; Dynasty Marching Unit; DO Allatarz State; City and County Officials; The Road Knights Car Club, Inc; and Earth Wheels and Fire Motoreycle Club.
Groups lined up at 7th and Market Street, started down Market Street and made a right on
West All Saints Street. Final reviews and final performances ended at the Filks Lodge (173 West All Saints). Check out photos from the day!
