The Boys and Girls Club of Frederick County is thrilled to share the progress of its community mural, designed by the talented Yemi Fagbohun. This vibrant artwork will be more than just a visual landmark; it embodies the spirit and resilience of our community.
The Boys and Girls Club received incredible support from friends and volunteers at the Western Maryland Chapter of Jack and Jill of America, Inc., ALDI USA, and other organizations to sponsor and paint parts of the mural, steadily bringing Yemi’s work to life. This is only the beginning of collaborative involvement as the Boys and Girls Club will continue to invite and encourage organizations and individuals alike to contribute to the mural until it’s completion, showcasing the power of community collaboration.
Enhancing the Burck Street building and creating a symbol of hope and unity for the youth served is a reminder of our collective mission to uplift and support the children in our community. This mural project is a beautiful marker of living in color with friends and family.
