Last Saturday, Advocates for Homeless Families boardmember Veronica Lowe joined fellow board members at Sleep in Heavenly Peace’s Build-a-Bed Day. Together with volunteers from across the community, they rolled up their sleeves and built beds so that local children don’t have to sleep on the floor.
“Being part of this event was such a privilege,” said Lowe. “Every child deserves a safe and comfortable place to sleep, and it was powerful to contribute to that in a hands-on way.”
Sleep in Heavenly Peace (SHP) is a nonprofit dedicated to ensuring that “no kid sleeps on the floor in our town.” Their volunteer-driven builds provide beds for children in need throughout the community.
For those looking for a way to give back, SHP offers a meaningful opportunity to make a tangible difference. Just a few hours on a Saturday morning can help ensure that every child has a bed of their own.
