Frederick County Government hosted its Black History Month Celebration at Winchester Hall, bringing together residents, county staff, and community partners for an evening centered on reflection, culture, and shared experiences. Rooted in this year’s national theme, “A Century of Black History Commemorations,” the event recognized 100 years since the first national observance of Black history while highlighting the achievements and contributions of Black Americans past and present.
The celebration featured thoughtful remarks, special speakers, and a series of artistic performances that energized the room, including musical selections from a local choir, presentations by Aya Arts Studio, and an engaging step team performance; the annual program continually creates space for learning, connection, and honoring of history while uplifting culture.
