The SOUL Street “Seasons of SOUL” Holiday Market brought a vibrant rush of community energy to Carroll Creek this past Saturday as shoppers explored a lively mix of Black-owned vendors, seasonal gifts, and festive food under clear November skies.
Live music and a joyful choir created a warm, celebratory atmosphere that carried across the amphitheater, adding to the excitement as crowds moved from booth to booth. The Eric Byrd Jazz Trio brought live music, creating a soothing, soulful soundtrack for the afternoon. There were photo moments — including a “Black Santa” — giving families a chance to capture holiday memories. Among the standout moments was Sweet Maddie’s Cookies, whose table drew steady lines throughout the afternoon and ultimately sold out—a testament to the growing local love for their small-batch treats. SOUL Street has shown us that holiday shopping can be deeply rooted in culture, connection, and community empowerment. For local shoppers, it was a joyful, meaningful way to kick off the season. For vendors like Sweet Maddie’s, it was an opportunity to shine — and by the looks of it, their products made real-time fans big time. The event blended holiday spirit, culture, and entrepreneurship seamlessly, offering a memorable kickoff to the season for both vendors and attendees.
