Looking for a festive and unique outing this winter break? Head to Washington, D.C., to marvel at an extraordinary gingerbread display created by the talented students of the Hospitality, Culinary, and Tourism Institute (HCTI) at FCC and select Frederick County Public Schools (FCPS) students.
After six months of meticulous planning and crafting in FCC’s Baking and Pastry Lab, this breathtaking 4 ft. x 12 ft. masterpiece now graces the historic Willard InterContinental Hotel. The display beautifully captures the essence of the National Mall, featuring detailed gingerbread replicas of iconic landmarks like the Washington Monument, National Gallery of Art, U.S. Botanic Garden, and National Museum of the American Indian.
Transported carefully to the hotel, the students spent two days assembling and perfecting the intricate design, showcasing their remarkable dedication and talent.
Don’t miss this incredible display, on view at the Willard InterContinental through December 31. Celebrate the hard work and creativity of these young artisans and get into the holiday spirit!
