On June 2nd, The Frederick County Maryland Moms Demand Action collaborated with the Heartly House to raise awareness of the increased lethality of domestic violence incidents in the County when firearms are involved.
The message? Simple. We can end gun violence!
Folks gathered at Hill Street Park wearing orange to support the cause. In addition, Frederick County Executive Fitzwater and Michael O’Connor, Mayor of Frederick presented a joint proclamation to the local MOMS Demand Action proclaiming June 2, 2023 as National Gun Violence Awareness Day.
We renew our commitment to reduce gun violence, keep firearms out of the hands of individuals who should not have access to them, and encourage responsible gun ownership in our community. – Frederick County Government
