Up and coming artist Rellevant debuted his single, “No Pen” in the fall and now has brought you the music video.

“I wrote this letter to you babygirl, with no pen…”

Rarely do we get to see a young man displaying his vulnerability and emotion. On this track, Rellevant left no stones unturned. Directed by Ahzay, the visuals are set in a wildlife tone with frequent comforting images of the downtown public library.

The simplicity of the scenes allow the watchers to focus on the message. The song is one of heartbreak, reflection, and closure. It is a story about a relationship, listeners can assume it’s his own. He recounts the ups and downs of the relationship, sharing the intricacies throughout the roller coaster ride of his pride, mistakes, and overall sadness.

Rellevant mentions infidelity, and gives the listener real-time thoughts that everyone experiences after a rough relationship. The many gray areas between placing blame and being accountable, her wrongdoings and his, and conflicting and changing views by the moment, Rellevant did an amazing job detailing the confusion of a break up. With visits from a couple friends in the video, the visuals definitely reflect the track and aftermath of a breakup. It’s an easy listen and a song to get lost in. Press play.
