R&B of the DECADE by Retro/Ricole

Peace —

I decided to end the decade off how I started it, with personal lists for the public. Not a DEFINITIVE one, I just wanted to share the music I enjoyed this decade (2010-2019) throughout the genres.

With the advent of streaming sites, it has made it 1000x easier to soak up music like the sponge I’ve always been. I only included major label or national releases as well. I think I’m going to list one for local artists soon. 🤔

Here’s my 20 picks for R&B/Soul. I excluded Beyoncé and Rihanna from the list, I just feel like their releases reached the “Pop” stratosphere and caused a cultural shift across multiple genres. List your favorites.
